We advocate for hard-wired copper landlines and fiber optic broadband as the primary robust and reliable communication networks that many residents need every day, and that are especially needed in emergencies.
 
We advocate for an evidence-based, precautionary approach to wireless development.
 
We advocate for the use of best practices in the regulation of telecommunications facilities, and a strong defense of the zoning and regulatory rights of local government which are under threat as a result of Federal Communications Commission (FCC) overreach.  
 
We advocate for a ban on 5G "small" cell towers in residential neighborhoods.  A Berkeley city ordinance needs to include a 1500-ft minimum setback from businesses, schools, and healthcare facilities, as well as protection of scenic corridors.
